Viewing EBSCO eBooks on iPad

FYI, when using iPad, Safari cannot display the PDF eBooks from EBSCO.  Student can use the Chrome browser app and it displays PDF eBooks in Chrome.

Checking Campus Events

We often get questions from patrons about where something is held on campus for that day.  You can use the IVC Master Calendar to look up that information.  The Master Calendar gives you event breakdown by date and time.

To find the IVC Master Calendar, click on "campus" tab from IVC homepage, and look for the "master calendar" under the Staff column (see image).

URL for keyboarding class

Some students are having trouble to finding the URL to access the website for their keyboarding class.

The URL is unique to each school.  Simply type: "ivc." in front of the keyboarding site name.  For example: ivc.gdp11.com

The site offers discount software for students to purchase.  They just need to select our school.

Library Incident Report Form

How it works:

• Each time a form is submitted, the information is automatically stored in a spreadsheet.  
• The form creates a log of all the incidents occurred for easy reference in the future.
• Administrators of the form get an email alert when a form is submitted.  If the incident is critical for all library staff to know, it will be forwarded via email to all library staff. 
• This is an internal tool that is not shared with people outside the Library Dept.

What to use it for:

• Any incidents big or small (e.g., student giving you hard time about food policy; library theft; student making you feel uncomfortable). 
• Please submit a report to this form even when you called Campus Police and/or submit a Campus Incident Report(which may trigger college disciplinary process)
• We want to keep good records of all incidents so we can establish history for repeat offenders and provide details when Campus Police asks us.
